In a strategic move to bolster its millwork business, Boise Cascade Company has entered into an agreement to acquire Brockway-Smith Company, a wholesale distributor renowned for its expertise in doors and millwork. The deal, valued at $172 million, encompasses the acquisition of both Brosco's two full-scale distribution centers and the company's rich legacy in the industry. The transaction is slated to close in the early fourth quarter of 2023.

Boise Cascade, a dominant player in the millwork sector with operations spanning 10 locations in thriving markets across the nation, is set to amplify its influence with the Brosco’s acquisition. Notably, the company specializes in both interior and exterior doors, frames, hardware, and pre-finishing solutions. Jeff Strom, Executive Vice President of Building Materials Distribution, emphasized the strategic significance of the acquisition, stating, "Brosco is a long-standing industry leader in the Northeast region known for high-capacity manufacturing, quality artisanship, and a loyal customer base. This acquisition furthers our strategy to expand our millwork business. We are excited to bring this outstanding team on board."

Charlie Smith, president & CEO of Brosco, emphasized that the merger with Boise Cascade aligns with Brosco's culture and commitment to customers and associates. Smith noted, "Boise Cascade is a large and successful organization that will allow all our customers the ability to continue to enjoy the outstanding Brosco products and service that have been the standard of the Northeast millwork market for over 130 years."

The acquisition marks a significant step in Boise Cascade's strategic plan to reinforce its position in the millwork sector and expand its offerings to a wider customer base.
