A Shared Mission

Educator Resources. Partnerships. Expertise.

SME and the SME Education Foundation support and share the mission of educators. From academic research and technical reports to the very direct support of the SME PRIME Schools initiative, explore our commitment to education and teachers.

Manufacturing is becoming increasingly connected, automated and intelligent, marking a new industrial revolution. Technology-driven, advanced manufacturing supports 13 million jobs in the U.S., assuring economic stability and opportunity.

A core mission of SME is workforce development, supporting and ensuring that students and high-tech employees are prepared and equipped with the creativity, ability and skills necessary for success.

Inspiring Students

The SME PRIME initiative focuses on engaging and inspiring high schools students to explore manufacturing. We work with industry partners to acquire industry-relevant equipment, and design technological and manufacturing curricula offerings, to prepare high schools students for skilled career pathways.
