Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the history, culture, and accomplishments of Hispanic and Latino Americans of past and present. SME recognizes the achievements and contributions of the Hispanic community as it relates to manufacturing.

November is Native American Heritage Month and SME is proud to recognize indigenous people within manufacturing.

The SME Education Award honors the educator most respected for the development of manufacturing-related curricula, fostering sound training methods or inspiring students to enter the profession of manufacturing.

Honorary Membership may be conferred upon an individual of recognized ability and stature who has, by voluntary action, contributed their substantial skills and talent to accomplish the goals of SME.

Completed applications must be received by the Nominating Committee no later than February 15. Applications received after February 15 will not be eligible for consideration.

The SME Member Council was created in the fall of 2003 to lead the member engagement activities of SME's volunteer networks.
