New President and CEO Named at TRUMPF Inc.

By TRUMPF, Inc. Press Release
Starting March 1, 2022, Lutz Labisch will become the new President and CEO at TRUMPF Inc.

TRUMPF has announced that Lutz Labisch will become president and CEO of TRUMPF Inc. effective March 1, 2022. He will be responsible for production, sales and service of TRUMPF's machine tool and laser technology product portfolio in North America and for the strategy and business operations at TRUMPF subsidiaries in the United States (including Connecticut, California, Illinois and Michigan). He will also oversee TRUMPF operations in Mexico, Canada and Brazil. TRUMPF manufactures fabricating equipment and industrial lasers in North America and generated revenues of approximately $700 million in its fiscal year ending in June 2021. Founded as TRUMPF America Inc. in 1969, TRUMPF’s North American headquarters are located in Farmington, Connecticut.

As the new president and CEO of TRUMPF Inc., Labisch brings nearly twenty years of experience in the machine tool industry. Labisch has demonstrated leadership skills and has excelled in various finance and management positions throughout his career and six-year tenure with TRUMPF. His expertise garnered in prior positions contributed to the commercial foundations he developed for TRUMPF’s Smart Factory strategy, and his efforts paved the way to rebuild Connecticut production facilities damaged by a tragic plane crash in September 2021. Labisch earned a master’s degree in industrial engineering and business administration from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany and studied as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Michigan.

Labisch will take over responsibility from Peter Hoecklin, who is leaving the TRUMPF Group after more than eighteen years with the company.

Hoecklin made contributions to the TRUMPF Group in various positions held in Germany, China and America. In the United States, he played a role in setting up the new TRUMPF Smart Factory in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and laid the foundation for future business growth among companies seeking large-scale, automated and interconnected sheet metal fabrication equipment, according to the company.
