3D Systems Announces Two Acquisitions

3D Systems said it agreed to acquire two companies as the additive manufacturer expands its portfolio.

The Rock Hill, S.C.-based company said in separate announcements on Feb. 23 it reached acquisitions accords with the following:

--Kumovis, a Munich, Germany-based additive manufacturing solutions provider for personalized healthcare applications.

--Titan Additive LLC, a Colorado-based designer and fabricator of large-format, industrial 3D printers.  

3D Systems said in a statement that Kumovis has “unique extrusion technology specifically developed for precision printing of medical-grade, high-performance polymers such as PEEK (polyether ether ketone).”

With Titan Additive, 3D Systems said it “expand the strength and breadth of its polymer AM solutions portfolio to address new applications in markets such as foundries, consumer goods, service bureaus, transportation & motorsports, aerospace & defense, and general manufacturing.”

3D Systems said it expects to close both transactions in April. Financial terms were not disclosed.
