Hexagon Shows CMM Laser Scanning at EASTEC 2021

By Hexagon Press Release

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division announced the first showing of its new HP-L 10.10 non-contact laser line scanner at EASTEC 2021, Eastern States Exposition, West Springfield, MA, from October 19-21, 2021.

The HP-L-10.10 is the latest addition to Hexagon’s extensive offering of sensor solutions for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) that provide manufacturers with future-ready options for busy shop floors. This cross-platform technology deploys the same ultra high-speed, high-precision 3D scanning capability found in the latest portable Absolute Arm and Absolute Tracker solutions. The HP-L-10.10 is 7 times faster than its predecessor and delivers high precision scanning currently not present in the CMM marketplace. Additionally, the scanner offers comparable repeatability and performance to tactile measurements executed on the same CMM.

The HP-L-10.10 will be demonstrated on a GLOBAL S, Hexagon’s productivity line of CMMs, along with PC-DMIS inspection software during EASTEC. Through a highly-configurable technology platform, GLOBAL S ensures that quality engineers creating measurement routines, operators executing inspections, and quality managers analyzing data all have the technology tools needed to ensure continuous improvement in the production workflow. After the event, attendees can also visit Hexagon’s new Can I Measure It? micro site for resources explaining how measurement challenges are overcome with effective strategies and the best use of CMM and sensor technologies.

In addition, Hexagon will demonstrate a wide range of measurement solutions including SpatialAnalyzer portable metrology software, 7-axis portable Absolute Arms, an Absolute AT960 laser tracker, and an Optiv Performance 322 that combines optical and tactile measurement into one system. Attendees will also get a look at the off-the-shelf automatic TEMPO part loading system. This industrial automation technology increases CMM throughput by adding lights-out quality control to the manufacturing shop floor. The TEMPO facilitates autonomous measurement that is free from interruption so manufacturers can maintain output when CMM operators are not unavailable.

Also in the NCSIMUL | Hexagon Booth, a new-to-market release of NCSIMUL will be featured during the trade show. The high-performance G-code certification and optimization software is now available for turning, drilling, 3-to-5 axis milling, multi-tasking or more complex machining. NCSIMUL is available as a standalone software program and integrates easily with other software via CAD/CAM and tool database interfaces. EASTEC attendees that are CNC programmers can get a close look at the software’s CNC collision detection and cutting tool optimization functionality that will be featured during the show.
