By SME Media Staff

While FABTECH 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, plans are underway to bring FABTECH 2021 to Chicago in 2021. That means North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event will be heading to McCormick Place Sept. 13-16, 2021.

FABTECH provides a convenient “one-stop shop” venue where you can meet with world-class suppliers, see the latest industry products and developments, find the tools to improve productivity, and increase profits, while McCormick Place is the premier convention facility in North America. With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space, McCormick Place is the largest and most flexible use convention center in North America and is located on Chicago’s lakefront, just minutes from downtown and facing one of the most iconic skylines in the world.

Registration will open in January 2021. Show floor admission is complimentary if you register before September 9th, 2021. After the deadline and on-site, the registration fee is $50.

Education Beyond the Show Floor

FABTECH offers an array of educational programs, with targeted technical, operational, economic and managerial sessions. Attendees can network with peers, learn from top industry experts, exchange best practices and explore the latest technology and advancements in the industry.

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Int’l (FMA), SME (formerly known as Society of Manufacturing Engineers), Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), American Welding Society (AWS) and Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI), co-sponsor the sessions on cutting, laser, finishing, forming & fabricating, management, marketing/sales, lean, automation, smart manufacturing, stamping, workforce development, and 3D/additive manufacturing. All sessions are 90 minutes in length, offering practical knowledge you can use right away. Sessions with Tech Tours combine classroom instruction with expert-led guided tours on the show floor to see technology operating in designated booths.

The American Welding Society (AWS) presents a comprehensive lineup of welding education. Led by the industry’s top professionals, programs focus on best practices and new commercial developments in welding and thermal spray. Events include conferences, seminars, RWMA Resistance Welding School, professional program, society events, and more.
