Walnut, CA – Voestalpine Eifeler Coatings announced today the opening of their newest coatings facility in Walnut, California. The new facility is located to provide Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coatings solutions to the manufacturing communities in California and the Western United States, according to the company.

This facility will be operated by EDRO Engineering, a division of Voestalpine and a supplier of custom mold bases, tool steels and non-ferrous alloys. According to Kris Welch, EDRO’s vice- president, “Our new facility is operated by a team of highly trained professionals and allows us to expand our value-added services to existing customers and into new markets where PVD coatings can help improve the manufacturing process and functional part performance.”

The Walnut facility is equipped with Physical Vapour Deposition Arc and Sputtering coatin g systems technologies. This location also features the addition of Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings to the Eifeler North America product portfolio, for parts that require high sliding speeds, even without lubrication.

The launch of the new facility represents a new era for Voestalpine Eifeler Coatings in the United States with an expansion to the west coast to complement existing facilities in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Mexico and Canada.
