Mahr Inc., a global manufacturer of precision measurement equipment, will host a grand opening of its new Midwest Regional Customer Center July 25-26. Located in Wixom, Mich., the newly constructed 7,000 ft2 facility reflects Mahr’s regional strategy for the Americas, which is to bring its expertise closer to customers, according to the company. Mahr’s facility features a demonstration area, training and conference spaces, together with office spaces for the Mahr team.

Our Americas headquarters remains in Providence, R.I. Our facility there is home to more than 170 employees, where we continue our tradition of proudly manufacturing in the United States. With the new Detroit area customer center, we have the capacity to grow our existing team based in Michigan; and most importantly, we satisfy the requirements of our customers to be local.”
Mahr continues to strengthen its North American presence by adding this second facility to the area. The existing Midwest Regional facility, located in the Cincinnati area, was opened in 2009.

The grand opening event for the new Detroit area facility will feature Mahr’s equipment and solutions, including MarShaft optical shaft measurement machines, wireless gaging and hand tools, the MarSurf product family for contour and roughness measurement, MarForm roundness and form measurement, and CNC controlled measurement system for gears. The event will include Manuel Hüsken, CSO of the Mahr Group, Carl Mahr, member of the Mahr family and Supervisory Board, local dignitaries, and training and seminar sessions. Carl Mahr will be on site the morning of July 26th for the official ribbon cutting and to sign free copies of “Mahr Exactly: The History of a Family Enterprise Since 1861.” Visitors are urged to bring their measurement challenges; Mahr’s expert team will be on hand to offer support and solutions.
