LUBECK, GERMANY, June 19, 2017 – SLM Solutions Group AG, a leading supplier of metal-based additive manufacturing technology, signed a long-term cooperation agreement with BeamIT S.p.a., which is based in Fornovo di Taro, Italy. The cooperation concerns the joint development and testing of various parameters for setting the machines when using various metal powders.
BeamIT is one of the leading contract manufacturers of the automotive, biomedical, aeronautic and aerospace industry in Italy and already has SLM Solutions machines in use. The cooperation agreement also includes a letter of intent for the purchase of 15 more SLM Solutions multi-laser machines through 2019: 10 SLM 280 2.0 machines and five SLM 500 machines equipped with a quad laser system.
SLM Solutions Group CFO Uwe Bögershausen said his company has been working very closely with BeamIT for several years. “Italy is a market with huge potential, and we are greatly looking forward to stepping up this cooperation.”

The signing of the cooperation agreement represents an important step for SLM Solutions toward leveraging the opportunities that arise from the growing use of additive manufacturing technology in the automotive as well as biomedical, aeronautic and aerospace sectors.
