This was the challenge facing Schneider Electric USA Inc. at its 213,500-sq-ft (19,835-sq-m) Lincoln, Neb., plant, which operates 24/7 to produce molded circuit breakers mainly for the residential market, using injection-molding processes. The factory is the company’s second-largest energy consumer in North America and, according to 2023 data, contributed about 840 tons of Scope 1 (direct) CO₂ emissions.
