Who is involved with Manufacturing Day?

Manufacturing companies across the nation open their facilities to the public inviting students, teachers and community leaders a chance to see what modern manufacturing looks like. Events are intended to attract a larger workforce while showcasing to the public the high tech and the variety of skills and careers that are available to the next generation of individuals considering manufacturing. When individuals have a chance to experience modern manufacturing firsthand, their attitudes and opinions about the industry shift for the better. That is why we want to inspire and recruit the next generation of manufacturing professionals.

The Manufacturing Day Mission

Address common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
