Join a panel of Additive Manufacturing experts with over a century of collective insight to learn about the technical challenges that have persisted throughout the technologies’ evolution. Composed of experts across generations of SME’s AM Technical Community Leadership Committee advisors, this panel will identify today’s persistent technical and adoption challenges that are critical to AM advancement. By engaging in a conversation about the panel members’ past experiences in overcoming technology and adoption barriers and their vision of what’s coming next, the audience can identify the remaining “grand challenges” of AM, and thus the key opportunities for the next major breakthrough.

The career forum panel is targeted at university students, faculty members, and early careerists (emerging professionals). This career forum series is meant to enhance career development and grow future generations of leaders in additive manufacturing by creating awareness of AM use cases, career opportunities, skill sets needed, potential training, and paths. This year’s career forum panel will highlight AM in the Creative Economy and focus on AM’s use in Hollywood, jewelry, fashion and medicine.
