Excellence in Composites Manufacturing Awards In recognition of the valuable contributions within the composites manufacturing industry, SME offers a technical award to acknowledge the valuable roles manufacturers play within the industry. The award is presented to one company that has demonstrated "excellence in the field of advanced composites manufacturing." This is an international award, and the competition is open and unrestricted to all companies that manufacture products from advanced composite materials. This annual award recognizes those companies that have demonstrated dedication and ongoing contribution to further advance the design and development of technology used in the manufacturing of advanced composites. The award will showcase those companies that have excelled in manufacturing products made from advanced composite materials. That excellence will include developing an innovative way via tooling and/or manufacturing process techniques, which will help manufacture future products made from these materials; or have shown accelerated growth by providing superior service, quality or cost reduction initiatives. The award recipient will have demonstrated all of the initiatives that have helped advance the overall composite manufacturing industry. Submit Your Nomination Rubric Expand / Collapse All 1. Organization Achievement (20%) Provide an achievement over the past 12 months to get nominated. The organization has achieved outstanding success in composites over a sustained period of time. 2. Positive Influence to Composite Industry (20%) The organization has broadly and effectively communicated the value of composites to composites industry and others 3. Demonstrated Leadership (20%) The organization has exhibited leadership in issues of importance to composites industry 4. Integrity in Dealings, Including Financial Management (20%) The organization has demonstrated integrity in its dealings, including financial management 5. Demonstrated Inclusiveness (20%) The organization has appropriate efforts to be inclusive in the composition of its board, staff, membership, and programs. Application Process & Rules Companies interested in applying for this award will complete and submit their applications online during the nomination period. Multiple submissions from any one company are acceptable as we are looking for the best example of "Excellence in Advanced Composites Manufacturing." The winning company must: Have at least one employee in attendance ceremony to receive the award during the annual AeroDef Manufacturing/Composites Manufacturing event. Provide a PowerPoint presentation to attendees regarding the part, project, program or overall service that resulted in winning the award. Consent to full media release to SME, which will allow SME to announce recipient with a full description of the part, project, program or overall service that they were selected to receive the award for. (Note: If the winning entry is based on a part, project, program or overall service for one of their customers, it shall be the responsibility of the winning company to obtain these permissions as noted above, and assume any legal responsibility and liability in meeting the terms and conditions as defined by SME.)
