(CHICAGO – Jan. 23, 2017) – SME, FMA, AWS, PMA and CCAI, the producers and cosponsors of FABTECH, have announced a partnership with Hannover Fairs USA (HFUSA), Deutsche Messe’s U.S. subsidiary, to co-locate the Industrial Automation North America and Motion, Drive & Automation North America (MDA North America) trade shows at FABTECH at McCormick Place in Chicago Nov. 6-9, 2017.
FABTECH is North America’s largest collaboration of technology, equipment and knowledge for the metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing industries.
Industrial Automation North America (factory, process, and building automation technologies) and MDA North America (power transmission, motion control and fluid technology) are part of the HANNOVER MESSE global portfolio of industrial technology events.
“Forming this partnership with Hannover Fairs USA to co-locate Industrial Automation North America and MDA North America within FABTECH enhances the attendee experience and expands the portfolio of industrial technologies and machinery,” said Jeffrey Krause, CEO and Executive Director, SME. “This is a natural next step since FABTECH includes all the major players in sheet and plate metal fabricating, welding, finishing, metal stamping and tube & pipe fabrication.”
Co-locating Industrial Automation North America and MDA North America at FABTECH allows HFUSA to provide these two key tradeshows on an annual basis. Both currently are held at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in the even years.
Commenting on HFUSA’s objectives for partnering with FABTECH, President and CEO of HFUSA Larry Turner said, “We are excited about forming this partnership with the FABTECH event because our key exhibitors indicated a desire to showcase their solutions on an annual basis in North America. FABTECH visitors are a perfect fit with our two shows’ target markets. The primary reason visitors attend FABTECH is to source new manufacturing products and now they can see an extension of industrial product offerings at Industrial Automation North America and MDA North America in the Lakeside Hall of McCormick Place.”
North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event held biennially in Chicago in November at McCormick Place. The event anticipates more than 45,000 attendees and 1,800 exhibiting companies. FABTECH provides a convenient ‘one stop shop’ venue to meet with world-class suppliers, see the latest industry products and developments, and find the tools to improve productivity, increase profits and discover new solutions for all metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing needs. FABTECH is co-sponsored by The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International, SME, Precision Metalforming Association, Chemical Coaters Association International and The American Welding Society.
