Description:
The word deburring conjures images of cutting or grinding off burrs. For many applications, however, the real need is to ensure that part edges are smoothed to the extent that they do not cut. If a smooth, non-cutting edge is the only requirement, beating the burrs down to a smooth surface accomplishes the goal just as well as cutting them off. In the 1970s and 1980s, two tools were produced to hand deburr by beating down burrs. Both could be used in a drill press or motor to deburr thin sheet metal, plastic strip, or tube ends.
