Description:
Abrasive rubber tools are used on almost every part deburred at many companies. These tools consist of a rubber wheel, or shape, impregnated with particles of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide. This relatively soft tool does an excellent job removing very small burrs and providing a radius of up to 0.005 in. (0.13 mm). When used correctly, these tools neither damage precision surface finishes nor change the dimensions of parts, except at the edge on which they are used. Abrasive-filled rubber tools are color-coded by the manufacturer to indicate aggressiveness. The manufacturer uses four color codes for shapes: dark green is for coarse or aggressive action, brown is for medium action, red is for fine action, and light green is for extra-fine action.
