Few published examples exist of comparative deburring economics. One of the most effective methods of estimating costs is to make the following calculations: count the machinists and related machine operators within the company; multiply this sum by 0.03, and multiply the product by the yearly salary average of machinists. Another simple approach is to estimate the number of inches (millimeters) of edge to be deburred and multiply by an average plant cost/in. (cost/mm) of edge.
