Two-day course
This course is designed to enable participants to:
- Describe the basic components of a programmable controller and demonstrate basic programming techniques
- Describe the construction and operation of PLCs
- Demonstrate a knowledge of troubleshooting techniques as applied to programmable controllers
- Perform maintenance on PLCs to provide maximum equipment life
- Perform basic program writing. This greatly assists the technician in comprehending ladder logic for troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot common PLC problems, reducing equipment downtime
- Interpret PLC indications for reliable and quick repair
Recommended for skilled trades, foremen, supervisors and engineers involved in designing, programming, installing and maintaining PLCs and their related systems. Participants should have a basic knowledge of electrical control systems, either electromechanical or PLC-based. Prior computer experience is not required.
