TMEH is the former Tool & Manufacturing Engineer's Handbook; an encyclopedic reference source originally comprised of nine volumes, a desk edition, dictionary, thesaurus and other derivative works that span major manufacturing technologies and processes. It is being digitized and released in a new peer-reviewed and validated WIKI environment.

Product & Process Design and Management Community

Estrem William A. Estrem, PhD, is principal of Metaplexity Associates and currently teaches International Operations Management at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. He previously served as an associate professor in the College of Business at the University of St. Thomas where he held the Honeywell Endowed Chair in Global Technology Management. Estrem was the director of the Information Technology Management concentration in the MBA program. He has several years of industrial experience, including an industry analyst with D.H. Brown Associates and an enterprise information architect in 3M's Information Technology division. Estrem joined SME in 1988 and is the current chair of the PPDM Community.
 
  Richard R. Bailey, CMfgE, CPIM, is managing director of Applied Management Technology Inc. He has been an SME member since 1995.
 
Burstein Michael C. Burstein, PhD, EMCP, CEI, is president of T.I.P.E. Inc. Through his company T.I.P.E. Inc. and other professional activities, Burstein has interacted on a continuing basis with major players in concurrent product development (CPC). These have ranged from pioneers of product development at software companies like PTC, MatrixOne and SDRC to technology gatekeepers and entrepreneurs at lead implementers such as Ford Motor Co., Deere and Co., General Motors, International Truck and Engine Corp., The Boeing Co. and Harley Davidson Motorcycle Co. Burstein has been an SME member since 1995 and is currently a member of SME's Board of Directors. He is the former chair of the PPDM Community and the current chair of the Computer & Automated Systems Tech Group.
 
  Evan P. Caille is a manager of ME tools for Hewlett Packard Co. Prior to joining Hewlett Packard, Caille was the manager of Compaq's mechanical CAE group. He has worked in the aerospace and telecommunications industries, developing and implementing computer-based design systems. Caille has a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He has been an SME member since 1990.
 
Csokasy David L. Csokasy, PhD, is president of The DJC Group. His prior business experience includes being manager, human resources development, for General Electric Aircraft Engines; director, personal and professional development for Delphi Delco Electronics Systems; acting vice president, academic affairs, State University of New York; and dean, engineering and applied technology, State University of New York. Csokasy has been an active SME member since 1990.
 
  Douglas C. Genord is a Technical Fellow, Computer-Aided Manufacturing Systems, with The Boeing Co. Genord has a BS degree in computer science from Michigan State University and a master's in computer science and engineering from the University of Washington. He is a former member of SME's Board of Directors and has been an SME member since 1993.
 
Potru Subba Rao Potru, PhD, CMfgE, is a manufacturing engineering manager at The Boeing Co. He received a BS in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College in Warangal, a master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Potru, who joined SME in 1976, is a former member of SME's Member Council.
Member Council Liaison
Dobrzeniecki Aimee Dobrzeniecki is the deputy director of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program located within the U.S. Department of Commerce at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dobrzeniecki started with the MEP program in 1999 supporting the national network of nonprofit, state-based and university organizations that provide technical and business services to U.S. manufacturers. In her current role, Dobrzeniecki manages the MEP program performance, ensures execution of the strategic plan objectives, develops state and local partnerships, and promotes best business practices throughout the system. Prior to the MEP, she acquired manufacturing technology experience through her work in ground weapon systems development for the Department of the Army Tank-Automotive Command and through her work in gear research and manufacturing for the IIT Research Institute. Beginning in 1994, Dobrzeniecki also worked in the MEP system as a field agent — first in a position at the Chicago Manufacturing Center and second at the Manufacturers Resource where she assisted dozens of small and medium-sized manufacturers. Dobrzeniecki received an executive MBA in 2004 from George Washington University and a BS in mechanical engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1987. She has been an SME member since 1996.
Manager, Member Services
Satoh Margaret Satoh began her career at SME in April 2001 where she was responsible for SME's Customer Care Department from 2001-08. In 2004, her role was expanded to encompass member services. Presently, she is a liaison to various member committees and councils, utilizing her expertise in all facets of customer/member services. Satoh is also the staff lead for SME's Leadership Series. Prior to joining SME, she had a 20-year career at Ameritech with various leadership positions in service, sales and collections.
