- Company culture assessment
- Assessment of middle management
The onsite plant assessment is offered to gain an understanding of the company's current state of performance as it relates to the Lean philosophy. Each key area in the facility will be assessed and the findings will be documented and reported.
Elements such as current lead time, engineering alignment with manufacturing, purchasing alignment with demand, first-time quality, on-time deliveries, internal labor costs, and indirect costs as a percent of sales are some of the topics that will be assessed.
After the assessment, SME will provide a written report that will show the current state of the organization and a lean roll out plan for the company. The plan will be a high-level strategic Lean implementation process shown over time. Each company has its own unique challenges, so the detailed plan will be developed in conjunction with SME and company management. The detailed plan will be customized to help the organization through the difficult early implementation phases of the Lean journey.
