Ralton Emory has held numerous SME volunteer leadership positions on local, regional and international levels, including serving as chair of the SME Member Council in 2008. In 2005, Emory was the recipient of SME's Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award, and in 2006, received the Pellissippi State Technical Community College Advisory Panel Award. Currently, he is a member and industry relations manager, the liaison to the Rapid Technologies & Additive Manufacturing Community and the organizer of the SME Leadership Series. Dolores Gauthier began her career at SME in December 1999 as part of the customer service team. From 2000-05, Gauthier was the association manager for SME's former CASA, EM, MVA and RI associations, and was the community relations manager for the Automated Manufacturing & Community after the associations transitioned to technical communities. From 2005-08, she worked as the director of special events at the Michigan chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and from 2008-11 was promoted to the national director for LLS Canada working with corporations, volunteers and staff to implement fundraising programs and acquire sponsorships to support the mission. At present, Gauthier is a member and industry relations manager and the liaison for the AMA Community. She has a degree in accounting and is currently working toward her CMA certification. Kathy Looman has an extensive background in machining and material removal. Looman graduated with a business degree and worked for a few years in an unrelated design profession. In the mid-1980s, she was the West Coast sales and service manager for Pope Spindle Corp. Looman managed a spindle rebuild center in Southern California, which rebuilt spindles from every major manufacturer's CNC as well as manual machine tools. She is very technically competent with regard to bearings, lubrication, tolerances and all aspects of precision spindles, and has a thorough understanding of the machining industry. Additionally, Looman was responsible for retrofit sales throughout the region. After a brief time in a consulting role, she worked as an account manager for key accounts at Bodycote Thermal Processing, an international metal processing company servicing customers in many industries, including aerospace, defense, automotive, medical and power generation. Kevin McCormick is the member and industry relations manager for Canada, as well as the liaision for the Product & Process Design and Management Community. McCormick comes from the automotive sector where he has worked as a continuous improvement manager and production manager. He was trained as a lean six sigma black belt through Dana Corp.'s Internal University and Price Waterhouse. While McCormick was at Dana, he was also trained as the lean manufacturing facilitator/engineer. This was an intense nine-week course, which had him running and facilitating formal lean events at several locations across Canada and the United States. McCormick has also completed his lean certification through the University of Kentucky. He is a graduate of Georgian College's Teaching and Training Adult’s Certification Program and is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in business marketing at the University of Phoenix. Deborah Robbins has an extensive manufacturing background in the areas of human resources, benefits administration, commercial printing, new facility startup and specialty treatments for surface hardening metals used in various industries. Throughout her manufacturing career, she has held numerous volunteer leadership positions on local and regional levels. As an SME member and industry relations manager since 2008, Robbins is the liaison to the Industrial Laser Community. Mark Stratton is an education relations manager for SME. Since 1974, Stratton has held various positions within the Society, leading the professional development of manufacturing practitioners; the development, advancement and quality of manufacturing curriculum in engineering and technology programs; workforce development; and attracting students into manufacturing. He plays a key role representing SME and advancing its agenda in higher education through the SME Center for Education, the Manufacturing Education & Research Community, the Accreditation Committee and the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of SME (NAMRI/SME). Stratton is involved in the Manufacturing Division and the Corporate Member Council of the American Society for Engineering Education, and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. Jane Wellington began her career at SME in 1996. Since that time, she has held various positions within SME in the expositions, former technical associations and membership departments. Wellington is currently the member and industry relations manager for the Plastics, Composites & Coatings Community. In her role, Wellington manages activities, events and industry collaborations that promote SME and the PCC Community, while also engaging the local chapter members. As member engagement liaison to SME member chapters, her territory includes 11 states in the Midwest. Prior to joining SME, Wellington had 20+ years’ experience with corporate, personal trust administration and customer service in the banking industry. Chris Werth is an administrative coordinator for the Member Services area where she provides support to the membership staff and is a key contact for various member units. Previously, Werth worked in SME's former International and Government Affairs Department. She has been employed by SME since 1997. |
