Chapter 4 Lawrence A. Wacker Memorial Award

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Milwaukee Chapter 4, through the SME Education Foundation (Foundation), will support two scholarships; One scholarship will be granted to a graduating high school senior, and the other will be granted to a current undergraduate student.

Criteria

1. All applicants must be seeking a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering.



2. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.



3. When making the selection of recipients, the scholarship committee will give consideration to the following preferences:
• First preference will be given to scholarship applicants who are Chapter 4 members, their spouse, and/or their children or grandchildren.
• Second preference will be given to scholarship applicants who reside within the following Wisconsin counties: Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha.
• Third preference will be given to scholarship applicants who reside within the state of Wisconsin.
4. All scholarship applicants must plan on attending a four- (4) year program at an accredited, public or private college or university within the state of Wisconsin.



5. Scholarship funds will be paid to the college or university that the recipient(s) is attending and will be set up in the form of a debit account to pay for tuition, books, and housing.
