Description

Knowledge and skills are essential in manufacturing engineering. Ensuring technology transfer from the expert to the learner is critical. Product manufacturing, which includes product design, encompasses many disciplines that bridge the gap between different objectives. A deliberate systematic model of teaching will ensure that the delivery plan for a spectrum of learners is achieved. The delivery method will require a pre-assessment, post-assessment and Rubrics for post-assessment to gage the entire learning experience. Delivery methods include mini-lessons, class demonstrations, laboratory exercises, industrial visitations and co-op opportunities. Through the aforementioned learning experiences, learners will receive reinforcement to cement their manufacturing engineering educational experience. Authors: John M. Mativo (Ohio Northern University), Arif Sirinterlinkci (Robert Morris University)
