MONTREAL, August 16, 2013 — Natural memory foam mattress producer, Essentia, has adopted a new philosophy centered on lean principles.
“LEAN manufacturing provides proven principles on which to build on. It should deliver some impressive results in the months and years to come for our employees, suppliers and most of all, the Essentia customer,” says Morena Gelfusa, production manager of Essentia.
The just-in-time strategy will reduce stagnant inventory and associated costs, with the goal of maximizing a business’ return on investment. “The only way to remain leaders in performance sleep is by embracing change. From what I’ve seen, going LEAN is another solid step forward.” Jack Dell’Accio, CEO and founder of Essentia.
The anticipated end results of implementing lean principles are: controlled inventory levels, cost reductions, improved workflow and quality consistency. Essentia strives for continuous improvement, and the big picture is to get the right product to the right place at the right time in the right quantity.
