BAVARIA, Germany, August 7, 2013 — Some components simply can't be made with a conventional milling machine. Selective laser sintering could provide the solution. With this new technology, lasers are used to fuse layers of metal powder into completely new components.
The Toolcraft company in Bavaria, a manufacturer of quality precision parts and assemblies, is investing in the technology. Toolcraft started in 1989 and has about 130 employees.
The question is: Just how important will laser sintering machines be for German industry?
