The ingenuity and visibility of NASA space programs such as the Max Launch Abort System (MLAS), are sparking the creativity, knowledge transfer, and unique applications of revolutionary technologies.
Through interviews with MLAS principals, this program examines the utilization of shared resources, rapid prototyping, digital tapestry, health monitoring systems, sensors and innovative manufacturing and assembly techniques to successfully compress the MLAS development timetable from a typical four year time period to one year.
We’ll also explore how these innovations have been leveraged for use beyond aerospace application to wind energy, transportation, oil, safety, and civil infrastructure.
