Boring Mill

The new HBMX55i horizontal boring mill features a small footprint with a large work envelope (55.1 × 55.7 × 43.3" (1.4 × 1.4 × 1.1 m). The HBMX55i has a W-stroke of 19" (0.5 m), a Boring Millgeared head spindle with two speeds, hardened box ways, and weighs just over 21 tons (19.05 metric t). Compared to similar universal type boring mills, the HBMX55i has more tools and includes more peripherals that are required for boring as standard items instead of options to add on. The HBMX55i comes with a 4.33" (110-mm) diameter quill that allows using shorter tools; a contouring fourth-axis rotary table; linear glass scales on X, Y, and Z axes to maintain thermal stability and increase accuracy; CTS, and a 60-tool ATC. The boring mill includes an integrated Hurco control that supports both ISO/EIA NC and conversational programming and includes UltiMotion, Hurco’s patented motion system.
