Danos to Build New Facilities in Louisiana
A headquarters facility in Gray, LA, will contain the bulk of the 426 new jobs expected to be generated by the company’s move. A manufacturing site will account for the rest.
It was exciting times in Gray, LA, when Danos & Curole Marine Contractors LLC announced it was moving its headquarters to the city about 60 miles by car southwest of New Orleans and would be establishing a manufacturing and fabrication plant in a Louisiana port yet to be named. The company is a construction and services partner for major oil and gas firms.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that “Danos & Curole Marine Contractors LLC is considering at least two ports in the state for the manufacturing site, President and CEO Hank Danos told a news conference…in Thibodaux … He and Gov. Bobby Jindal said the expansion will create 426 new jobs over the next five years — 326 at the new headquarters and the rest at the manufacturing site. Pay will average $75,000 for the office jobs and $65,000 at the new plant.”
Station WGMB, FOX 44 (5/22) reported that construction for the headquarters facility will begin by late summer. The manufacturing site construction will begin within three months after the start of the headquarters.
According to The Advocate (5/31), Danos is now based in Larose, LA. Danos says the expansions will add 426 new jobs over the next five years. Danos has 1100 jobs statewide and in the Gulf of Mexico. “Danos considered several sites along the Gulf Coast for its new headquarters before choosing Gray ... The company looked at locations in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas.”
