EASTEC 2013: Smaller Bore Handling

ECO 40 dual expansion honing machine with in-process size control enables manufacturers of small and medium volume production to rough hone, gage and finish hone smaller bores under 2" (51 mm) in the same spindle. Up until now, low and medium volume manufacturers of smaller bores had no choice but to use machines designed for high-volume production with dedicated rough honing, gaging and finish honing stations. This increased initial capital expenditure and made frequent changeover from part to part more expensive and time-consuming as three stations had to tooled up. The ECO 40 honing system takes the dual expansion and in-process gaging down to 30-mm bore diameters using a space-saving hydraulic/hydraulic dual-expansion system. Nagel Precision
