EASTEC 2013: CNC Grinder

The new MX5 CNC tool and cutter grinder will be demonstrated at the booth. Designed with the volume end-mill producer in mind, the affordable MX5 also has the flexibility to produce mixed EASTEC 2013: CNC Grinderbatches. Providing the rigidity, stability and accuracy characteristics of other Anca machines, the MX 5 features a lower price, a lower-powered 26-kW spindle, and fewer wheel packs (two), making it suitable for a wide range of requirements including grinding of the majority of HSS and carbide cutting tools up to 16 mm. Grinding wheel and spindle are supported in the machine by a huge casting called the bi-symmetrical gantry that evenly straddles the tool center line, minimizing the effects of thermal growth and providing the high rigidity required for producing consistently accurate tools. This design allows the grinding wheel to remain very close to the C-axis pivot point. This configuration produces the highest levels of profile accuracy for tools requiring substantial five-axis movements, such as corner radius, or ballnose endmills.
