Updated OCR Scanning

The optical character recognition (OCR) technology from Cognex now includes an automatic tuning capability. Updated OCRMax tool adds a new auto-tune feature makes complex OCR applications simple for even the novice user and is available in the company’s In-Sight Explorer 4.8 and VisionPro 8.1 software releases. The advanced new OCRMax algorithm prevents misreads and provides easy font management for OCR and optical character verification (OCV) applications (e.g., decoding human-readable date or lot codes or serial numbers). OCRMax is an all-in-one tool that can handle character variations, text skew, proportional fonts and variable string lengths, while providing high read rates, reduced setup time, and faster deployment. In addition to the new feature, the In-Sight Explorer 4.8 software release includes enhancements for 2-D code reading, process feedback, and communications.
