Gibbs Joins Partners in THINC
Gibbs and Associates (Moorpark, CA), developer of GibbsCAM software, announced on Dec. 3, 2012, that it has been selected for membership in Okuma America’s (Charlotte, NC) Partners in THINC, a collaborative network of over 40 companies serving the metalcutting industry with specialized software, equipment, and expertise.
With Okuma’s open architecture, PC-based THINC-OSP control as its nucleus, the Partners in THINC network strives to provide the best possible integrated solutions to end users. Gibbs, a supporter of THINC-OSP controls since their introduction, offers many postprocessors for Okuma machine tools.
“We are pleased to be recognized for our expertise in providing a highly efficient, productive, and easy-to-use CAM system to industry, and for the service and support we provide our customers,” said Bill Gibbs, founder and president of Gibbs and Associates. “We have been supporting Okuma machinery for over 30 years, and the THINC-OSP controls since their introduction in 2004. We look forward to participating in the delivery of integrated solutions that help manufacturers increase efficiency and profitability with the latest and most sophisticated machine tools from Okuma.”
GibbsCAM offers a modular solution for programming all Okuma machine tools, from three-axis mills and two-axis lathes to multi-axis and multi-task machines (MTMs). GibbsCAM supports Okuma MTMs with solutions for programming turning and milling operations from a single interface, providing error-free postprocessing that results in machine-ready programs that require no editing. With a library of over 11,000 postprocessors, including over 1000 for MTM machines, Gibbs has many postprocessors for Okuma CNCs, including the MU, Millac, Multus and Macturn series.
