FABTECH 2012: In-Line Profile Measurement

The new Profile360 Generation3 In-Line Profile Measurement System features sensors that have been reengineered around higher-resolution detectors and are produced in the company’s new Advanced Calibration Laboratory. Improvements in the G3 version include improved resolution, accuracy and repeatability, a C-frame angle indicator, an available vortex cooling system, and measurement triggering via encoder or PLC relay contacts. The system is employed by rubber, plastic, wood-plastic composite and ceramic profile extruders to perform 100% inspection of the profile geometry in-line on the extruder; 100% monitoring has been proven to reduce scrap, improve quality, improve yield, and reduce manual off-line sample testing cost in these industries. System ships with PSViewer 2.03 software, which adds many new features including Auto-Save Snapshots that provides electronic storage of profile images for historical reference and an independent exposure time setting allows optimizing the exposure for multi-material profiles.
